I rarely take photos of people, but this young girl was irresistible. A group of tourists from my resort were lucky enough to be given a guided walk around the resort’s driver’s village. It was a fascinating glimpse into the life of ordinary people on the island.
This image is my Day 2 entry in the Black and White 5 Day Challenge. Jude of Travel Words (and other sites, all well worth a visit) has honoured me by inviting me to join in with this challenge.
There are only two rules for this challenge:
- On five consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W.
- Each day invite another blog friend to join in the fun. This is where it gets tricky for me, as I don’t feel that I know five other bloggers well enough to invite them. So I’m going to twist Rule 2 and make it an open invitation — if you would like to join in, please do!
Great work… Love the expression on her face…

Thank you. She had a marvellous range of expressions the whole time we were there, but because she rarely stayed still and would turn shy if she noticed a camera, so she was tricky to capture.

What an expression! She is obviously listening intently to something going on. Just look at the length of her eyelashes 🙂

She was very shy and distrustful when we arrived, and glowered at everyone. After 10 minutes, she was as friendly as a puppy!

I like the way you managed to catch her expression.
