Nine Shades of Orange

Yes, the title of this post is a shameless rip-off of you-know-what, but I couldn’t think of anything remotely witty about orange. Just be glad I didn’t go for all 50!

  1. Loved this diverse series from all around the world 🙂

There is a violence of color in sky, in that last image…

Thank you so much for sharing, Elizabeth 🙂

    • The cocktail is very refreshing! 1 oz gin, 1/2 oz triple sec, big squeeze of lemon or lime, 1/3 cup sparkling red grapefruit juice (the one in photo is from NZ actually). The great thing about taking photos of food and drink is that you have to dispose of the props afterwards. 🙂

      • I think I have ALL those ingredients (well I have a couple of red grapefruit in the fridge that I can squeeze) – watch this space… 😉

      • Ah, but the cocktail is called “Summer of 2015” so you will have to wait until it’s summer in your hemisphere! And how will you get the sparkling element into the drink? I think you’ll have to mix the juice with some water. The maker’s website says “The best organic fruit juice in the world, the best sparkling water in the world and a touch of organic sugar” but no proportions. http://allgoodorganics.co.nz/sparkling/ Oh dear, you will have to experiment. 😦

      • Add some sparkling spring water to the squeezed juice? That would work. And are you REALLY going to make me wait another 3 months?

      • Well, okay, you can call your version “Spring of 2015”, how’s that? 😉 BTW, thinking about it, I used 1/2 cup of the sparkling juice not 1/3. The bottle is 250ml and I got two drinks from it.
