Lily pond and overhanging trees caught in the last rays of sun.
Isn’t this a peaceful scene? Not a ripple to disturb the water lilies on this pond. Can you feel the day fading?
There were unusually big waves and powerful surf at Bondi Beach today. Very dramatic to watch as they gathered themselves up, curled over, and then surged in foam towards the shore.
Very few swimmers ventured into the water, but a few of the better surfers got in on the action.

Currawong on a TV antenna, against blazing clouds at sunset.
Currawongs are a type of black bird, similar in appearance to ravens and crows. At sunset in Sydney, their haunting calls herald the onset of night. You can listen to one here.
This is the same sunset featured in this photo.
Cordyline Fruticosa “Pink Diamond” unfurling leaf
I bought this plant a couple of weeks ago, and it’s churning out new leaves at the rate of one a week. I’m slightly worried, as it’s already just below my shoulder height. (I had to stand on a stool to get these shots.) Where will it end?? The ceiling is not exactly cathedral height!
If you’re impressed by the way I can reel off the Latin and variety, don’t be. It’s only because I kept the tag. 😉
