Tennis court on the roof
This tennis court in the sky is very near where I work in downtown Sydney — in fact, I took the photo from the 15th floor of my office building. I’ve never seen anyone actually playing tennis here, but the entire court was recently substantially refurbished, so it must get used sometime. Despite that netting, I can’t help but imagine balls falling on the heads of unsuspecting pedestrians below!

That’s pretty cool. I imagine there must be netting over the top too, to stop balls going overboard!

I’m pretty sure there’s no top netting. I can’t see one.

Maybe the side netting is very high then, I would imagine that even a tennis ball falling from a height could be quite dangerous.

If you peer really closely, you can see another level of netting atop the visible one. In this light it’s not very clear, but when it’s in shadow it’s much more obvious.

That makes me feel better. 🙂

Oh my! Hope that fence is much higher when you are on the court than it appears from your office building.

Fabulous roof shot. Very unexpected 😁

I’ve seen it for years but not given it much thought until this roof challenge!

See my comment to Jude about the higher, not-as-obvious level of netting.

It’s great, isn’t it! There’s another one on a rooftop on the next block, also visible from my office, but it’s nowhere near as photogenic.

That’s so cool! I’d love to play there. Bet it’s a great view from there too!

Not a great view I think, as it’s so hemmed in by taller buildings. Definitely unusual though!
