Bath Ritual, St Pancras Hotel, London
Yes, we are still spending time at the St Pancras — hotel not train station for this post. This is the “bath ritual”, in which the “bath butler” comes to your room* and draws a bubble bath (it’s a bit hard to see the bubbles, look at the lower left).
I can’t honestly recommend it: the purpose of the three bowls of assorted goop was not explained, so I was left to guess at what they were meant to do and where I was meant to apply them and in what order. I don’t like candy so the “sweet treats” were put aside. The two (!) glasses of prosecco arrived with the bath butler, so were room temperature and flat by the time I got into the bath. (Never fear, I had my own chilled supply of champagne to fall back on.)
*only available if you are staying in a Chambers suite
For a moment there I thought you were sharing your bath, then I thought, no that is a mirror, then I looked again. Glad you explained! Three face cloths too – I guess one for each of the ‘gloop’ bowls!

Back from a grey sky walk at Morenos. Probably just as well because those hills were serious. Fed, watered and home. Better put the tree up tomorrow. Might be wonky if I do it today πππ·π

And yay you are having a tree, was thinking you may not bother as you are nipping back to England, or are you staying now?!

No, flights are booked, 23rd till 28th December. Putting tree up tomorrow, then we need a poinsettia. It’s such a nice tradition to have them on the doorsteps. π π

I’m just hoping my poinsettia is still alive on our return!

The only time I had a member of staff in the bathroom when I was running a bath was when the taps got stuck full on!!! Fortunately I had the sense to pull the plug but even so it was a close run thing π

Ah but in this case, the butler ran the bath so had there been an issue she could have dealt with it on the spot.
