Here’s another interesting tree type from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. The trees in these photos are both Queensland Bottle Trees, one much younger than the other.
The label for this tree didn’t say when it was planted, unfortunately, but look at the size of the trunk!

It’s so large that it needs propping up.

that first one is so like a bottle, whereas the older one looks like it may have drunk too much from a bottle! What an amazing tree

I was quite chuffed to stumble across it! I’d gone to the gardens intent on snapping the Wollemi Pine, and this intriguing tree was a bonus.

I think I prefer them in their youthful stage, before they start sprawling along the ground.
