Monday morning ‘at work’

9:20am, Monday. Hard at work. 😉

Nadia from ‘A Photo a Week Challenge’ is asking us “to share a photo or two of a change you’ve experienced during the covid19 crisis”. I’ve actually been extraordinarily fortunate: no job loss or salary reduction, and the work I used to do in the office I now do at home. I’m not especially sociable at the best of times, so the absence of other people is no hardship at all.

I took this photo at 9.20am today — ordinarily, I’d be in the office by then, not exactly ecstatic at the prospect of another week of work surrounded by noisy (sometimes irritating) colleagues, just starting on my cup of coffee. But on sunny mornings while working at home, I cheekily postpone the start of the work day and enjoy my coffee outside. 🙂

Fish out of water

This stone fish was already living on my balcony when I moved into this apartment. I like to imagine that when I’m not around, he has a good old chat with my pottery sun from Mexico. They probably both wish I’d turn them around so they could see something new!

This is my last post of 2019 — and tomorrow begins a new month of Squares with Becky, with the theme of ‘light’. (Teaser: those fairy lights wrapped around the tree will appear in a post.)

Happy 2020 to all! May the year bring only good things.

Chillin’

1 Day 1 World Project: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

1 Day 1 World: 7:11pm, Sydney.

After a few hours spent wrestling with a villain, or just unwinding after a day at work, this is where I like to be.

This post is called Chillin’ for two reasons. One is that this is where I chill out, and the other is that now that Sydney is into winter it is indeed chilly on the balcony!

This post is my contribution to the excellent 1 Day 1 World Project (7:00pm – 8:00pm). It’s a fascinating example of how our blogs can bring us all closer together.
